Most of the illustrations showcased on this site were produced for the Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) at Loughborough University where I have worked since 1988.
The illustrations are designed to place subjects in context and to breathe life into publications on a wide range of topics related to water and sanitation in developing countries. Others are examples from a collection of 300 illustrations on health and care in emergencies commissioned by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The illustrations shown here were initially hand drawn using black ink for ease of reproduction. As colour printing technologies have developed and as many publications are now produced for reading online, I developed the style to bring colour to both page and screen. Here are galleries of both black and white and colour illustrations. Commissions for either style are welcomed.
